Beautiful country, what else can I say…
Happy June!
For a while, my time in Italy seemed endless, but now my days are numbered and I’ll be counting down the 4 months I have left in this country and continent. On a beautiful day such as the one you see in the pictures below, I can hardly believe that I this will be my last summer of trotting to work, passing the hearty farmlands, seeing tomato grows, wheat field changing colors or the grapes popping out from the vines. I have this window next to my computer desk that looks to a vast land filled with greens and ends at the mountain, and that mountain is the Dolomites, Italian section of the Alps.
Not to mention that it is now my favorite seasons out of all fruit/veggie seasons we have here: it’s the cherry season! And besides cherries, there are all kinds of vegatation and flowers in bloom. Roses, for example, busted out of the bushes like they had never known life. Jasmine fills my bike ride path with its refreshing smell. These little red poppy-like flowers are dotted in the fields and roadsides. It’s hard to imagine a better place.
So I took some photos because I don’t want to forget what it’s like around here:
(shout out to Diego and Carlo for this little browser, if it doesn’t seem to change it’s because flash takes a while to load all the photos. You could go directly to the set.)
It seems impossible that there exists a place that is so beautiful and yet still unsullied by modernisation, industrialization, and commercialization. Viva Italia!
