On the High Line
Probably the newest park to opened up in NYC, the High Line is one of the more impressive public spaces in any urban areas: an abandoned elevated railway turned into a pedestrian walkway with a view, seatings and wild flowers. A combination of modern architecture and nature done tastefully. I was able to enjoy the High Line a couple of times during our latest visit to New York — it really is quite amazing and I’m glad to be one of the witnesses during its opening period.

Here’s a quick video of Robert Hammond talking about the making of the High Line, from Cool Hunting:
Being brand new, the park enjoys a privilege of looking spotlessly pristine. It’d be interesting to see how it is maintained in the years to come. Or what happens in the snowy winter days (snow day at Central Park is always a blast).
